With violent rhetoric, Trump fights electric vehicles to defeat Biden in Michigan. (PART-2)

Democratic Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow was frustrated by Trump and Republicans' framing. She said, “This shift is going to take time.” Electric vehicles are still too expensive for many consumers, and onshoring the EV supply chain is still needed.

She warned that if Donald Trump convinces workers to not make the shift, our automakers will go out of business because they will lose customers, especially in a worldwide market. “It's hard to convey that nuance.”

Republican Michigan state Sen. Ed McBroom stated, “From the folks that I talked to and interact with, there continues to be a very high degree of doubt about the sustainability of electric vehicles’ taking over our transportation system in the near future.”

Republican and Republican-leaning respondents opposed the transition 84%, while Democratic and Democratic-leaning individuals supported it 64%, while Republican and Democratic opposition had increased since 2021.

A Gallup survey released Monday indicated that 7% of Americans own electric automobiles, up from 4% a year earlier. From 43% to 35%, fewer Americans believe they may buy electric cars, compared to one year ago.

In Michigan, a statewide survey by the Detroit Regional Chamber and the Glengariff group with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points indicated that 46% of potential voters favored electric vehicles and 44% opposed them.

Trump claims Biden voters 'not love Israel' and'should be addressed to' “I don’t necessarily think it’s a good or bad thing,” said Warren, Michigan Biden supporter Andrea G. I suppose there's more to come because it's so young. Not all information is mine. I don't think so."

Since Biden entered office in January 2021, auto jobs have grown nationwide. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 120,000 more motor vehicle and parts manufacturing employment in March than in nearly 20 years under the Biden administration.

“The president has agreed to slow the transition to EVs in a way the UAW and auto companies support,” he said. “So Trump is alone. The rhetoric is intense. But U.S. automakers and the union are also planning with Biden to switch to EVs.”
