New music available for streaming. In Taylor Swift's world, we merely exist. On Friday, April 19, the pop music and U.S. economy savior will release her highly anticipated 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” After winning best pop vocal album for her tenth album, “Midnights,” Swift surprised fans in February at the 2024 Grammys. The day following the Grammys, Swift teased 16 tracks and two features: “Fortnight,” with Post Malone, who recently appeared on Beyoncé's “Act ll: Cowboy Carter”; and “Florida!!!” with Florence + the Machine. “Down Bad,” “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” “loml,” and “Clara Bow” are more good song titles. The physical edition will include four variants with bonus tracks: “The Manuscript”, “The Bolter”, “The Albatross”, and “The Black Dog.” At a Melbourne event, Swift called the album “a lifeline,” saying, “I’ve never had an album where I needed songwriting more than I needed it on ‘Tortured Poets.’”

After 30 years, Pearl Jam's 12th studio album, "Dark Matter," drops on the same day as Swift's. They're keeping it in the family. Both are Republic Records artists. “Dark Matter” is Pearl Jam's first new album since 2020's “Gigaton,” a hard-rocking collection of songs from the saints of the 1990s Seattle scene that AP's Andrew Dalton called “athletic in its speed, aggression, and tenacity, sounding like it would make men of their age sore in the aftermath.” Producer Andrew Watt.
